Of Solitude and Loneliness

Rilke wrote,
Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other.

I had that love once. I dream that somewhere buried in the mists, that love is still there. The memory at once ephemeral, at once alive. How did i let it go out of my hands? How did i let it go out of my heart?

p.s. Thanks Silly for introducing me to Rilke.

Let's say.. A blast from the past.. :) Want to take a guess? Should we rewind to year 2000? :)

Honestly put, I am thoroughly pleased to find you here on blogosphere. I hunted a lot for you but couldn't get you on Orkut / Facebook et al. But am not too sure if the enthu is mutual.. So being a little shy rather than forthcoming. :) Till I know it is safe to step into the limelight.. Ironic, I know.

Ah. I'm not much into social networking, so neither facebook nor orkut would return any matches.
2000 would put me in my alma mater. Hmmmmm. :) who do I know from college? More to the point, who would remember my birthday? Lots of possibilities but none that jump to mind as being far more probable than the other.

Oh do come out of the shadows! If you surface in or near Chennai, you'll have earned yourself a treat at GRT (for old times sake).

I am not falling for that bait.. I am far away from Chennai.. :P

Let's make it easier for you and reduce the search to Sarayu / Sharav. You could also exclude U2 and Veda from the list of probables.

And now, if I don't figure in your list of possibilities, I am going to huff off in a smoky pretence .. :)

Where's the list now?

Yes!!! (followed by fist-pumping rafael nadal-style). I KNEW it was you! I just did a google search for your name and considered mailing to your mail id that i found on the iitm alumni directory. The GRT prompt was based on the fact that the phone number listed on the alumni website is a chennai one.

Welcome to ze blog!

p.s. I don't actually have to prove any more that I know who you are right?
well, if there's still doubt, shall I mention basketball? or certain cyber-friends in common? or the profits we have given ITC?

Oh and lets take this off the blog, shall we? srih.sal@gmail or alfie.doolittle@gmail should both do the trick.

OKAY! The clues, please?

To sumarize my thought-process ...
I'm willing to play along. :)

The details of said thought-process ...
You want me to notice you... Why else would you bother leaving a comment?
You are probably a woman... The two messages are worded carefully to hide your gender. Ergo, not a man's work.
You are probably not a STRANGER... not to Saale anyway, even if you might be to Sriharsha. :)
You are looking to get back in touch, but not too obviously so... You want to see if I can remember you or recognize you....
Like I said, I'm willing to play the game!

Not bad, eh? The deductive reasoning, I meant.

So! The thrill of the cloak-and-dagger game is not tempting enough? Awwww! How does said stranger react to dark chocolate? Or an invitation to a game of scrabble perhaps? Or a good ol' cuppa?

As Dick Feynmann once famously wrote, "I wonder... I wonder why... I wonder why I wonder... I wonder why I wonder why... "

Brrr! Now it IS tempting. You can never win this game:) given the fact that you don't know me. It might be a waste of time for you :)

Dark choc? puke puke..I hate those.
Scrabble? Yawn!
Cuppa..May be.

Had a friend once who just could not be blackmailed. His belief was this: The ultimate response to the threat of a gun pointed at your temple is to take the damned gun from the attacker and blow your own brains off!
Wanna know how I can win this? Apathy! I can choose to end this conversation. :)
Wanna try that?

Thought you already were trying "apathy" by not replying last night:) Simply put, you needn't have replied even today. You had the choice.Awwww you are giving me a chance? How nice!

If you had something that could remotely pass for an excuse of a brain, it would tell you from my recent blogging history that I don't check my blog every day.
But feel free to trap yourself in the web of your own analysis.
This conversation officially ends. You arent as smart as I hoped you were. Awww.. Feel hurt? :)
The next time around, Don't hint at blackmail. Do it! :)
